Smackdown! Results - July 22th, 2004

The Smackdown! theme played, starting the show officially for the live crowd in Philly.

It wasnt long before The Big Show came out to the ring for the first time since losing at the Great American Bash! Show would be in the main event tonight, but you could tell he wasn't happy. Show said that on atleast on Raw he had the pleasure of kicking asses that were a challange like The Undertaker and Gravedigger, but tonight on Smackdown he faced, Rob Van Dam? He said that tonight in the steel cage he would demolish Rob and, after other things, he went backstage.

The scene shifted backstage where a famous French Hair Stylest Sylvin Proyair entered the locker room labeled "HEIL MARK CHAOS/TERRI", and he brought in some of the finest hair dye in the world with him. However, it seemed that nothing could please Terri. After blindfolding her and placing her head in the sink, He dropped his burrett and had to go back out to his car for some more dye. Terri threatened to fire him before he left. What a bitch!

Following a commercial break, it was announced that next week on Thunder it would be Rhino vs. Liam Daly, the first show after Vengence!

After the announcement, Rob Van Dam, the Extreme Champion, came to the ring playing to the crowd. Rob said, among other things, that he had lost his drive and his will to win, and that he would be leaving the WWF! The fans were shocked, but were once again releaved when Rob revealed that he needed to get back to his roots, renaming himself X Van Dam after the X-Title he holds! He reasured his fans that tonight, in the steel cage, he would retain his title against Big Show.

Once again the camera cut backstage, showing former WWF Champion Rhino walking down the hallway towards the Superstars Area, stirring a cup of lemonaid. He reached Terri's locker room and walked in, where she was still blindfolded with her head in the sink! Rhino put on the French Man's burrett and messed with Terri, the same woman who turned on him last week on Thunder. He called her a silly goose before pouring in an entire can of purple hair dye!! He said, "Hi Hooo" and spit in the mix for good measure. After getting a mirror, he unvailed the new look to Terri as she nearly had a heart attack! Rhino threw the burrett at her and laughed as she screamed for her to get out. He also said that he was sure Tinky Winky was open and he would dig hair like that.

When Smackdown! returned, Chris "Wildcat" Harris was in the ring, looking extremely pissed off. He talked about his WWF Title match with Bret Hart before Hart himself came out and got in Harris' face! After trading insults, Chris Harris threw the first punch and the two began brawling all over the ring. Security came out and tried to seperate the two, but not before the two broke free and attacked each other again! Finally at Vengence this storied feud will finally come to a head.

Backstage, Terri pounded on Bret Hart's lockerroom door. When she came in, she showed Bret her hair while nearly in tears! She said that she would deal with Rhino another day, but after all she had been through tonight, she demanded a Women's Title shot! The 3x Women's Champion got her wish and left the locker room throwing a fit.

Before the main event, the scene cut to WWF Legend and RAW superstar Tweeder Woods sitting ringside with a ticket to the show. The fans booed him, but he had a reason to be here - at Vengence he would take on one of Smackdown's finest in an interpromotional match. But "You Think You Know Me" hit over the PA Speakers, sending out the Master of Inotainment, Rhino. Rhino talked trash about right in Tweeders face about Raw before Tweed threw powder in his eyes! Tweed brawled with the blind Rhino outside, but Rhino fought back before being stunned with a low blow. Tweed then took a chair and cracked it straight over Rhino's head, sending a gunshot like sound through the arena. Tweed quickly left through the stands, obviously choosing Rhino as his Vengence opponent.

Main Event - Steel Cage Match
WWF Extreme Championship
Guest Referee: Slash Vicious
X Van Dam(c) Vs. The Big Show

Big Show got the best of XVD early, beating him from piller to post of the cage, throwing him around and even bloodying him. X fought back, though, hitting Show with a running dropkick and other unique offense. But when he aimed to hit Show with his barbed wire necklace, he missed and hit the guest ref Slash Vicious! Big Show then turned XVD around and hit the Showstopper! He just had to escape the cage. He went to climb the cage, but the dazed Slash pulled Show down. After XVD recovered, he took it to Show until he was able to climb the cage, but Big Show followed as fast as he could.

When the reached the top of the cage, X was hanging over with Big Show standing on the other side in the ring, holding his hand on his throat! But before he could attempt another Showstopper, XVD hit a hyper extended kick, knocking Big Show off of the cage and he fell through THROUGH the ring, caving a hole in it as the cage nearly gived! XVD fell off the side, landing on the ground to retain his Xtreme Title!

Slash Vicious called XVD into the ring to congradulate him with the X Title, but before he handed it to him, he nailed the already stunned XVD with the championship! He beat X to a pulp, challanging him to a match at Vengence for the Xtreme Title as the scene faded!
